I love the little rice sushi parcel. The chicken katsu curry is nice too.
The glass noodles are brilliant.
There is a happy hour where 50 per cent discount applies. -

On the odd occasions when work isn't agreeing with me or I have had a rough morning I tend to lunch at Deli Mama's - perfect comfort food joint.
What's weird is whenever I am off exploring beyond this place am always surprised at the queues here. It's as if there is no where else in Monument to eat lunch aside from here. Bizarre because I don't think the food is all that. Yes it's yummy - beef bulgogi or chicken teriyaki, it has a homely feel with the brown rice and the sweet women in the counter smiling constantly (it's strange how they keep that up so consistently?!)
People of Monument -there are other places to eat in the area !!
I also caution if you have immediate post lunch meetings maybe don't order a regular size as it tends to send you to sleep straight after ! A small is decent enough ! -

I was bored of the same lunchtime choices so looked up lunch options in Yelp & this place come up. I went for a chicken wrap as the sun is shining & I didn't think a ramen soup would work. I probably should've gone for a soup as while there was nothing wrong with the wrap it didn't blow me away..I will go back to try some of their other offerings just in case something does!

I'm normally a loyal Wasabi customer, so I wasn't going to Deli Mama expecting anything fantastic from a takeaway Japanese "inspired" lunch.
Even so, I wasn't impressed with Deli Mama. The service was quick and efficient, but the amount of topping (spicy tomato chicken in my case) was very small compared to the amount of rice. Maybe I should have asked them for extra sauce.
The food itself was ok, although there was zero heat in the spicy chicken, and hardly any vegetables either. The chicken had a few bits of fat in it too.
I know it's central London, but £5.80 for a regular size box of takeaway food, served with a fork so flimsy you can barely eat with it, is too much. If the price were £5 or under, I'd have given them 4 stars. -

Good lunch place if you want cheap(ish) hot food where there seems to be a lack of in the City. Katsu curry recommended.
